Comic-Con highlights, The Bear, and Marvel's Fantastic Family

This past week, San Diego hosted the first of two major Comic Con festivals. July 23 to 26, the convention center welcomed comic geeks, TV buffs, and anime aficionados to celebrate the latest and greatest in nerd culture. Announcements across mediums filled the ballrooms, exhibits, and the famous Hall H, previewing upcoming content for this year and the next. Follow my favorite titles below.

The Miseducation of Goldokin

September 17, Prime Video’s second season of Gen V arrives. The first spinoff of Eric Kripke’s The Boys returns viewers to God U just as Vought seeks to make America super again. View the trailer below.

Synopsis: In Season Two, school is back in session. As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander's iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. Cate and Sam are celebrated heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma reluctantly return to college, burdened by months of trauma and loss. But parties and classes are hard to care about with war brewing between Humans and Supes, both on and off campus. The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it.

This season sees Sean Patrick Thomas become a series regular and welcomes the additions of Hamish Linklater and Ethan Slater.

Stephen King’s first novel walks to the screen near you

After a teaser trailer was released a few months back, Francis Lawrence’s The Long Walk dropped its full trailer at SDCC. The King adaptation follows a handful of young men making a treacherous trek until the end. The Long Walks comes September 12.

The first rule of Talamasca…

As another Emmy nominations list missed AMC’s Interview with the Vampire, the Immortal Universe is gearing up for the next chapter in the critically acclaimed franchise. Teased in Interview last season, Talamasca: The Secret Order arrives on TV and AMC+ in October.

The series follows a gifted skeptic who is viciously recruited by a mysterious syndicate that monitors the supernatural world. In addition to the stellar cast, Interview’s Daniel Molloy, played by Eric Bogosian, appears in the series. See an exclusive image below. 

Talamasca: The Secret Order premieres October 26 at 9 p.m. ET.
